We believe that dressing appropriately fosters a positive learning environment that supports academic achievement, school spirit, and personal pride.
DRESS CODE
Footwear: Shoes, slippers, sandals, or boots are required for safety reasons. Heels or platforms cannot exceed one inch.
Shirt Coverage: Clothing must cover the navel, waistline, midriff, chest, and back.
Avoid spaghetti straps, see-through clothing, strapless tops, bare midriff clothing, or tank tops with large arm/head openings.
Shorts, Skirts, and Dresses: These must be mid-thigh length or longer.
Hats: Permitted on campus but not indoors.
Inappropriate Attire: Clothing or styles promoting gangs, violence, profanity, nudity, drugs, alcohol, or containing negative messages will not be allowed. Bandanas and do-rags are also prohibited.
***NEW*** School Spirit Days (Monday - Friday):
Students are required to wear a Kahalu'u Elementary School T-shirt.

Consequences for Dress Code Violations:
First Offense: We'll provide appropriate clothing and send a notification home. If unavailable, parents will be contacted to bring a change of clothes.
Second Offense: In addition to the above, a warning and written referral will be submitted to the counselor/administrator.
Third Offense and Beyond: Disciplinary consequences will be implemented in addition to prior measures.
