Kahalu'u Elementary School is located in a rural, agricultural setting, situated in peaceful Waihe'e Valley at the base of the Ko'olau Mountains. Established in 1963, the school is considered an integral part of the community.
The school is dedicated in creating life long learners who make a positive impact in their community. The school engages learners by sparking curiosity and inspiring global thinking. In order to support the students, parents, and community, Kahalu'u Elementary School is focused on providing academic, emotional, and social supports through engaging and enriching opportunities for our students.
Students are provided a variety of curricular enrichment opportunities such as Junior Police Officers, student leadership, Hawaiian Studies, 'ukulele, and the Leader in Me program.
Adding to the school's excitement, Kahalu'u Elementary recently won a state-of-the-art fitness center! This exciting new addition will provide students with even more opportunities to stay healthy and active.
Our Kahalu'u Ukulele Band performs at various community events and has traveled to various schools in California to share the Aloha and even in Japan.

Following the rigorous WASC Focus on Learning self-study process, Kahalu'u School was awarded the maximum six-year accreditation. This achievement is due to the concerted efforts of the teachers, staff members and the School Community Council to raise the level of academic performance of students as documented in the school's Academic and Financial Plan. Kahalu'u School's success is everyone's concern in the Kahalu'u community.
